Stovetop Coffee Roasters, Grand Rapids: Located on the east side of town, Stovetop is my one of my personal favorite coffee shops. Their baristas are very talented at making beautiful latte art—something I look forward to when I stop in. And bonus, across the street is Van’s Pastry Shoppe, Grand Rapids’ oldest bakery and a great spot to try a donut.

Aldea Coffee, Grand Haven: Nestled in downtown Grand Haven, a block away from the channel to Lake Michigan, Aldea is a specialty coffee shop dedicated to fostering community and supporting sustainable coffee farming. The name “Aldea,” meaning “village” or “hamlet” in Spanish, reflects their mission to build a close-knit community around quality coffee.

Lantern Coffee, Grand Rapids: Located in the Heartside District of downtown Grand Rapids, Lantern Coffee is known for its inviting atmosphere and provides a cozy environment for both coffee enthusiasts and casual visitors.

Lyon Street Café, Grand Rapids: Situated in the Heritage Hill District, the café serves as a community hub where patrons can enjoy expertly crafted beverages and delicious pastries. I love sitting in their huts that sit along the street; it’s a cozy vibe.

Madcap Coffee, Grand Rapids: Madcap Coffee Company is a West Michigan staple. With two locations, Madcap, established in 2008, is a specialty coffee roaster and retailer. Renowned for its commitment to quality and sustainability, Madcap sources high-quality beans from around the world.

Wildroast Coffee, Grandville: Wildroast Coffee has a wide variety of coffee options, teas, baked goods, and sandwiches. The space is large, so it’s perfect for finding a table and hunkering down to do work.

Lemonjello’s Coffee, Holland: Eclectic and artistic, Lemonjello’s is an ideal place to relax, work, or socialize. They often host community art and music events, and their menu includes a variety baked goods and breakfast options.

Left Field Coffee Bar, Middleville: With a fun checkerboard floor, Left Field Coffee Bar is a vibrant café with a commitment to organic and fair-trade coffee, as well as its plant-based menu offerings. This coffee shop is a great way to explore the small town of Middleville, which is 25 minutes south of Grand Rapids. Grab a coffee to fuel up for a walk or bike on the Paul Henry trail, also located in downtown Middleville.

Rise Authentic Baking Co, Grand Rapids: Rise is an allergen-friendly coffee shop, specializing in vegan, soy-free, gluten-free baked goods. I love their whoopie pies!

Uncommon Coffee, Saugatuck: If you are looking for cozy indoor/outdoor seating by the lake, the Uncommon Coffee Roaster in Saugatuck is a great place! Uncommon Coffee Roasters offers a variety of coffees, teas, ciders, breakfast, lunch, and quick snacks. UCR continues to take pride in celebrating diversity, giving back, and promoting sustainability.
