The Dual Language Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide the following components that align with Quality Matters and SIOP Learning Mode. The SME will collaborate with the Instructional Designer, who will create the master course shell.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete Course Alignment Blueprint including course readings, materials, activities, and assessments aligned with the SIOP learning model and University stated learning outcomes, in the assigned language, English or Spanish.
• Define weekly language objectives and their assessment; incorporating Introduced, Reinforced, or Mastered objectives, as applicable.
• Record video “intros” for each week to set the tone for students in the assigned language.
• Develop video lectures, audio recordings, written lecture notes, and multimedia presentations that present key concepts, theories, and information related to the course topic in the assigned language.
• Identify supplementary resources such as: videos, articles, practice sets, etc. that can be used for the course, specified by week in the assigned language
• Develop online assignments, interactive learning activities, and assessments with corresponding instructions and rubrics in the assigned language.
• Instructions for faculty teaching the course.
• Review and signoff by Department Chairperson or Designee
• Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.
• Provides GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
• Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fully bilingual English and Spanish, and excellent writing skills in both languages required.
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent credentials) in related fields required.
• Demonstrated mastery of course content.
• Minimum of three (3) years current professional experience related to assigned teaching discipline.
• Relevant/Current certifications/licenses as required by teaching assignment.
• Ability to teach one (1) to four (4) hours per class session.
• Enjoy working with the public and be able to relate well with diverse students, faculty, and staff.
• Demonstrate a professional manner and attire in a business environment.
• Demonstrate effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication behaviors.
• Demonstrated effective knowledge and use of presentation, facilitation, and technology skills.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically, analyze data, and read/process written information.
• Teaching experience (preferably in higher education or training) and/or experience in planning/developing courses preferred.
• Prolonged sitting and standing.
• Use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain).
• Ability to lift classroom materials, etc. up to twenty-five (25 pounds.)
