You are in luck if you are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in West Michigan! As St. Patrick’s Day approaches there are plenty of things to do to celebrate! For me St. Patrick’s Day is usually spent wearing my favorite green outfit, spending time with friends or family, and enjoying an Irish dinner at a local restaurant.

If you and your lads are still deciding how to spend your lucky weekend, check out our list of St. Patty’s Day celebrations. We have something for everyone, from a quick active race for your kids to a St. Patrick’s Day parade, and an Irish dinner.

  • Leprechaun 5K chase in Holland: Put your green on and be active! Sign up your kids for The Wee Chase for a fun quarter mile run around Centennial Park in Holland on March 18th.
  • St. Patrick’s Day parade: Join Grand Rapids for the St. Patrick’s Day parade on March 11th. The Irish were the first immigrants to come to Grand Rapids in the early 19th century to help dig canals along the Grand River. Wear your favorite festive outfit and join us in this celebration.
  • Grand Rapids Irish Pub: Stop by Flanagan’s after the parade for a traditional Irish dinner of Sheppard’s pie and more!
  • Grand Haven Irish dinners:  Grab your lads and have an Irish dinner at JW’s Food and Spirits. They are hosting their annual corned beef and cabbage dinner with green beer, and Bailey’s Irish Cream.
  • Muskegon Shamrock Shuffle 5K: Bring your friends and family to the Shamrock Shuffle on March 18th to kick off St. Patrick’s Day events in Downtown Muskegon. Walk this fast and flat course then stay for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

However you choose to spend your St. Patrick’s Day in West Michigan, we hope you have fun and enjoy the celebration of the Irish heritage!
