Though Yug grew up in India, he has become very familiar with West Michigan. Yug went to Calvin College (now Calvin University) for his Bachelor’s degree and then Grand Valley State University to receive his Master’s in Education.

A few years after graduation, Yug and his family relocated to Indiana. However, after some time, he decided he wanted to be closer to his friends and family who live in West Michigan.

This is when Yug connected with Hello West Michigan.

Yug first found out about Hello West Michigan through a Facebook campaign. After speaking with one of our candidate concierges, we sent his information out in our weekly resume pack. Shortly after going through our process, Yug was offered a position as Assistant Director of Financial Aid with our member company, Grand Valley State University.

For Yug, the transition back to West Michigan was challenging at first, but with the help of family and realtors in the area, Yug and his family found a home in Allendale, which made his commute short. He said, “It has provided me with better work/life balance and has given my family opportunities to stay connected to our family in West Michigan. We also love West Michigan, so it is good to be back to enjoy living and working here.”

Yug said in his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, going to parks and beaches around West Michigan.
