Life In West Michigan

//Life In West Michigan

Michigan is known for its breathtaking summers, bright fall colors, and stark, white winters. Truly encapsulating every season to its fullest potential, West Michigan is a hot spot for those who love the outdoors, strong community relations, and beautiful areas to raise a family. Having spent my entire life in West Michigan, I know firsthand what makes this area one of a kind. From hosting the world’s largest art competition each year, to bringing in thousands of tourists to its beautiful lakeshore cities each summer, West Michigan is immensely sought out as a vacation destination, but is also a wonderful place to live and work.

We have started this blog to invite readers into events and activities through my eyes. Centered on my firsthand experiences, I will share my explorations as I attend various events and partake in everyday life doing things around West Michigan. The array of activities will include trying out new restaurants, shopping at local businesses, stopping at small coffee shops, traveling to parks, and much more. Readers will learn about new things to do around West Michigan.  For those who have experienced topics we write on, we hope the postings will inspire you to share the good news about Michigan with others. Everyone knows someone they’d like to see move back to Michigan.

It is my goal to write about a wide selection of events around the area to appeal to various people and interests, as I want all readers to gain insight into activities that they themselves would be interested in reading about. This includes activities relating to the outdoor recreation, arts and cultural happenings, community involvement, food, sports, entertainment, and more. Regardless of who you are, West Michigan has activities for every type of individual, whether you’re new to the area, thinking about moving here, or have lived here all your life.

About the Author:

As a West Michigan native and student at Grand Valley State University, I consider myself an expert-in-training on all things Michigan. I love being a short hop, skip, and a jump away from the beach during the summer, and usually end up at Grand Haven State Park or other park trails for outings with my dog Emmy. When not at school or work, you can usually find me shopping in downtown Holland or Grand Rapids, or at a local venue, taking in the latest show or performance.
