Whether you’re coming back to West Michigan for the holidays or already live in the region, there are lots of things to do Thanksgiving week (other than eat turkey). Coming back to the area and need a job? Need to do some holiday shopping with friends? Want to get the kids out of the house? Check out three events that’ll have you saying “yes” to West Michigan.

1. ReThink West Michigan. Happening in six locations across West Michigan (including Fremont, Hastings, Oceana County, Ludington, Muskegon, and Grand Rapids), ReThink West Michigan is a free, casual happy hour on November 27, Thanksgiving Eve, where attendees can network with local, hiring employers in the region. Grab a beer, talk to employers, explore relocation, and find the job that’s right for you. Pre-registration is required. Don’t miss out on this unique event!

2. Holiday Markets. While you’re in town, why not do a little shopping? Several West Michigan counties are hosting Holiday Markets throughout the Thanksgiving season. Find artisan vendors, local artists, and unique holiday gifts. It’s the perfect way to check those items off your holiday shopping list and spend time exploring the West Michigan region.

3. Festival of Trees. Looking for something to do with your family? Happening November 20 through December 1, Festival of Trees in Muskegon is a community celebration that includes raffles, music, gift shopping, a silent auction, a holiday design workshop, and professionally designed trees and décor.

Whether you stay bundled up indoors or explore the region during the week of Thanksgiving, know that there’s always lots to do and see in West Michigan. The events and festivals are just some of the many things we’re thankful for.
